Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
The role of the county GIS (Geographic Information System) department is to manage, maintain, and analyze geographical and spatial data for the county. This data can include information on land ownership, land use, infrastructure, natural resources, and more. The GIS department uses this data to create maps, reports, and other visualizations to support decision-making by county departments and other organizations. The GIS department also provides technical support for the use of GIS software and technology within the county with applications such as FetchGIS and Interactive Map Portal. Other duties include administering the County Address Ordinance and the Remonumentation Program.
Our goal is to provide our users the highest quality GIS services in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.
The GIS Department is working hard to get valuable information into the hands of people who need it most...YOU! How are we doing? Send us an Email to let us know if you like what we are trying to do or if you have ideas for ways we can improve. We want your feedback!
