patrol officers on sceneThe Uniformed Services Division is the most publicly visible unit, consisting of 17 full time and 2 part time Deputies who patrol St Joseph County, conducting proactive policing, responding to complaints, calls for service and engaging in traffic enforcement activities. The Uniformed Services division is responsible for maintaining peace and order within the entire county. This included over 520 square miles in 16 different townships. Deputies are available to respond to calls for service to the citizens of St Joseph County 24 hours a day / 365 days a year. Deputies assigned to this division may have specialized training in areas such as Accident Reconstruction, Crime Scene Investigations, Meth Responder, etc. Two (2) Deputies are assigned to Secondary Road, specifically for traffic and commercial vehicle enforcement on the counties 1220 miles of roadway.

The Sheriff’s Office has contracts with the Village of Centreville, Village of Burr Oak, Fabius Township, White Pigeon Public Schools, and St. Joseph County Intermediate School District for police services.
