Formed in 1992, the SRT deals with high-risk situations requiring specialized training and equipment not readily available to Patrol Deputies. This includes active shooter response, hostage rescue, armed barricaded subjects, and high-risk search warrants.

Training & Readiness
SRT members undergo rigorous monthly training focusing on advanced weaponry, specialized equipment, and modern tactical movements.
The SRT is available upon request to any Law Enforcement Agency in St. Joseph County and throughout the 5th District of Southwest Michigan.
