Reserves

Fifty Years of Dedicated Service

The Sheriff’s Office has utilized the Reserve Unit for over fifty years. This unit is currently comprised of 25 highly trained and dedicated men and women who volunteer their time to supplement the department’s personnel resources across all divisions.

Primary Functions

Uniformed Support

Supporting the Uniformed Services Division on patrol and augmenting the department’s response to major events.

Public Safety

Providing traffic control, security for community events, and conducting specialized liquor inspections.

Youth Programs

Collaborating with youth-focused programs to promote safety and positive community engagement.

Become a Reserve Deputy

The Sheriff’s Office hires Reserves once per year as needed. Applicants must meet the following standards:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Possess a clear criminal history
  • Maintain a good driving record
  • Complete specialized training prior to induction
  • Meet minimum participation expectations
