Note on Personal Property: Per Act No. 348 P.A. of 2000, all personal property filings must be submitted to the UCC Division of the Secretary of State.

The Register of Deeds accepts only: As-extracted collateral, Timber to be cut, and Fixture Filings.

Mandatory Requirement: A complete legal description is required on all new filings, amendments, and terminations related to real estate within the State of Michigan.

Defined Amendments

Under Revised Article 9, "amendment" includes changes to debtor names, secured party names, collateral, releases of collateral, assignments, terminations, and continuations.
